University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations - Student FORUM

Cambridge ESOL's first Student Forum,
Ready to study or work abroad?
Do it with Cambridge English: Advanced!, concludes at the Athens Hilton

Cambridge ESOL’s inaugural event for students wrapped up at the Athens Hilton on Saturday 4th February 2012, offering a new channel of information to Greek students that are interested in studying in the UK and beyond.

The forum included a variety of presentations touching upon several study related issues that each prospective student is faced with; ranging from language certification needed for studies abroad to tips for adjusting to student life in the UK. The presence of representatives from two top UK institutions, the University College London (UCL) and Kingston University, which are also amongst the 10 most popular universities to Greek students, further enhanced the forum’s international character.

Attendees had the chance to listen to Cambridge ESOL experts explain how the Cambridge English: Advanced exam can improve their English skills and why it is the only exam they need to study in the UK and beyond. Further updates on the revised, friendlier Cambridge English: Proficiency exam were also part of the programme, along with information about the UCAS Tariff scheme and how holders can earn between 70 and 140 UCAS Tariff points towards their application to UK universities and colleges with Cambridge English: Advanced and Cambridge English: Proficiency.

The University College London (UCL) and Kingston University delegates, presented attendees with an overview of their institutions’ reputation and location, giving details on  programme offerings, application processes and what grand challenges the entry to a UK university can offer. Last but not least, Network Educational Services’ informative presentation on studying in the UK included tips and a guide to student life abroad, aiming to boost everyone’s confidence in taking the step of pursuing international studies.

Cambridge ESOL will soon be publishing videos of the event and presentations for all its colleagues in the region of South East Europe.
